‘From the outset Anthony Stiff Associates were ‘on the ball’, fully understood our brief and proved to be highly professional, pragmatic and good fun to work with. The project was delivered on time, on budget and to a better standard than either I or any of our committee had anticipated.  I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending ASA’. Chris Bell, on behalf of SPAG, Bledlow.

Anthony Stiff Associates (ASA) supported the local community group in successfully opposing a 18 hectare solar park over 2 fields either side of Forty Green, a small hamlet in Buckinghamshire.

ASA produced a landscape assessment of the proposal and highlighted the impacts on landscape character and on sensitive visual receptors.

This proposal, comprising 28,000 solar panels was demonstrated to be of scale and character that was totally inappropriate to the deeply rural setting.  It was also shown to be clearly visible from the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty 1.8km away.

The planning report stated that by reason of the nature, scale and form the proposals would result in an unacceptable visual impact within the landscape.  It was agreed that the landscape is tranquil, intimate and has a historic landscape character, all of which would be harmed by the presence of a large scale solar farm.
